Daniel Joseph Breda: Italian/Australian. 1992 - Wollongong, Australia.

Daniel Breda is an emerging artist working across traditional painting, installation, virtual reality (VR), music and video from Wollongong NSW. In 2016 he completed an MFA (Painting) at the National Art School Sydney and has since been a full-time practicing artist. The goal of Breda’s overall visual arts practice aims at creating active participation for attendees in the gallery space through the juxtaposition of technological and traditional mediums. This involves creating experiences where the success of the artwork is equally reliant on both the interaction of the participant and the artist. The aim is to transfer the community engagement intentions and aspects of site specific, or place specific public art, to the white wall gallery. In doing so, Breda intends to deconstruct the spectacle of site-specific public art and substitute it with the spectacle of human action and movement in space.
